Seriously, I was in Annapolis when it happened, and the first thought I had was “is this a..? no, it can’t be, we’re in Maryland.” Since my organization is primarily staffed by people with geography and environmental science degrees, we spent most of our time while evacuated speculating and trying to remember our geomorphology and physical geography classes from college. (We’re water people, not.. plate tectonics people..)
